The lights on the side of a LUXEL electric wagon controller are useful for a quick charge check. They are not a distance calculator. Our original close-up shows the physical indicator on the blue handle; it does not establish a precise percentage for each illuminated light.
Start with the guide supplied with your wagon
Indicator behavior can depend on the controller and battery version. Use the manual supplied with your exact wagon to interpret its lights. Do not apply a color chart from an unrelated power tool or another electric cart.
The photograph in this guide shows green lights on one original blue controller. We have not independently measured the remaining energy at each light level, so we do not label the bars as 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%.
Check both battery packs
The LUXEL 500W listings specify two 18V 4.0Ah batteries. Both must be installed and charged for powered movement; the wagon is not designed to operate on just one battery.
Before departure, follow the manual to confirm that both packs are seated securely, the battery compartment is properly closed and the controller responds normally. A light on the handle is not a substitute for checking that both packs are present and ready.
A simple routine before leaving
- Charge both packs using the supplied compatible chargers and the manual's procedure.
- Inspect the packs, cables and connections for visible damage or contamination.
- Check the indicator in a safe stationary position, then test movement with a light load on level ground.
- Choose an outbound distance that leaves a comfortable return margin.
- If the indicator behaves unexpectedly, stop and consult the manual or LUXEL support before a long outing.
Why the same indication can lead to different trips
Soft sand, cargo weight, slopes and repeated starts all affect the work the motor must do. The beach model listing gives a range of up to 3 miles on sand, but that is a conditional product claim, not a promise tied to a particular combination of lights.
Use your first short trips to learn how the wagon behaves on your usual route. Record the load, surface and total route length rather than guessing a remaining distance from the indicator alone. Plan your turnaround early when the return leg is uphill or through deeper sand.
When the indication changes suddenly
Do not repeatedly force the trigger if movement stops or becomes inconsistent. Move to a safe level stopping place, keep people clear of the wheels and follow the manual's troubleshooting steps. Do not open the controller or bypass protective components.
A photo of the lights can help support understand the symptom, but include the exact model and what happened before it appeared. Do not keep operating a visibly damaged or unusually hot battery or charger.

Frequently asked questions
How many miles does one green light mean?
No verified miles-per-light conversion is available for these models. Remaining travel depends on load, surface, route and battery condition.
Can I use only one charged battery?
No. The LUXEL 500W listings say both 18V 4.0Ah batteries must be installed and charged for powered movement.
Does the indicator prove that a charger is compatible?
No. Charger compatibility must be confirmed from the supplied equipment and instructions, not the handle lights.
